About

The Friends of the Bay County Public Libraries is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit membership organization that supports the programs and activities of the Bay County Public Libraries, which are part of the Northwest Regional Library System. We take pride in the quality and quantity of the services the Bay County Public Libraries provides to our community.

The Friends was formed in 1972 by local citizens to support and enhance the value of our local libraries as they serve our community.

Our Board is made up of dedicated members of our community who plan and present Friends cultural programs, promotes community outreach and advocacy, raises funds for adult and youth educational programs, engages volunteers for Friends activities, and prepares email newsletters to subscribers. The Friends raises funds primarily through membership dues, donations, and fundraising events.

Our Purpose

  • To maintain an association of people who value library services and resources
  • To advocate for the library within the community, the state, and nationally
  • To raise funds for books and other materials as well as other needs
  • To sponsor programs and activities that encourage greater use of the library

We could use your help in our efforts — please consider joining the Friends. Annual dues start at just $10.
